"Dinner With Dart"

This exhibit was on display at
the Century House Museum
throughout the Summer of 2000

Andrew J. Snyder's love of horses and carriages was well-known, so it is no surprise that his dog of choice was the Dalmatian, the classic "coach dog".  Though he was to have several Dalmatians, his most beloved was Dart.

Dart was born in 1939 . . .

Though without any children of his own, the picture below suggests that A.J. Snyder enjoyed their company . . . even if not nearly as much as he enjoyed the company of his dogs.  (Do you know who the child is?  We don't but we hope someone viewing this page will tell us )

Dart died in 1952.  His grave is on the grounds of the Snyder estate, near the carriage house he must have known so well.
